A Structured Approach to Mental Health Care

A Clinic Built on Clinical Standards, Ethics, and Continuity of Care

Dr. Tsirigotis Theodoros  is a HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and AFBPsyS, PsyD Clinical Psychology, M.A. in Family & Couple Thepapy, PG Dipl (Clinical Supervision) PG Dip (Cog Thp), PG Dipl (Goup Therapy), BABCP (Accred), EMDR (Accred), RAPPS (Acred), HPC Reg, B.Psych (Hons).

My clinical identity is rooted in the belief that the human psyche is not an isolated entity, but an intersubjective map shaped by relational history, systemic structures, and socio-political contexts. Having lived, studied, and worked across a diverse tapestry of cultural landscapes—including the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Cyprus, the USA, Spain, and Greece—I have developed a profound understanding of how "place," language, and displacement intersect to shape the internal world. This global trajectory allows me to navigate the complexities of identity with a nuanced sensitivity to the psychological experience of the "global citizen" and the inherent challenges of belonging. My work is further informed by my tenure in academia, where I have taught Clinical Psychology at the university level and have spent years training and supervising the next generation of psychotherapists, fostering a bridge between rigorous theoretical research and the nuanced reality of the clinical encounter.

Drawing from extensive experience within both the British (NHS and private sector) and the Greek healthcare systems, my practice is a sophisticated synthesis of Relational Psychoanalysis and Advanced Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy. I move beyond traditional symptom-reduction models to explore the deep-seated architectures of developmental and relational trauma. By integrating models such as NARM, CRM, and EMDR, I assist individuals in deconstructing the "survival strategies" that—while once ingenious adaptations to environment—may now hinder their capacity for vitality and authentic connection. A cornerstone of this journey is my work with refugee populations and victims of forced migration, a specialized focus that has honed my ability to provide a "secure base" for those whose foundational sense of safety has been shattered.

In this context, my approach to intercultural fluency moves beyond mere cultural awareness; it is an active exploration of how displacement, the "untranslated" parts of our history, and the loss of a familiar "holding environment" impact the psyche. I approach every therapeutic encounter through an intersectional lens, informed by Gender Studies and Feminist Theory, recognizing how power dynamics and societal constructs—such as patriarchy, xenophobia, or classism—are often internalized as personal distress. By working intersectionally, we deconstruct how these overlapping layers of identity and systemic oppression shape your experience of the world. In our sessions, we treat the "political" as "personal," identifying the power dynamics that stifle agency and co-creating a space where the complexity of a multifaceted identity is recognized as a profound source of resilience.

This intellectual framework, combined with my experience consulting for NGOs and corporate systems through the Tavistock model of Systems Psychodynamics, led to the inception of The Transitional Space. I envisioned a space that transcends the limitations of clinical reductionism—a sanctuary designed to honor the "transitional" or liminal space where the unconscious is invited into dialogue. The Transitional Space was born out of a necessity to offer a specialized environment where the transition from reactive survival to conscious agency is not just a goal, but a lived experience. My commitment is to provide an intellectually grounded and deeply compassionate sanctuary for those ready to navigate the depths of their history and reclaim their psychological autonomy..
