Personalized, Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment
LGBTQI+ Counselling & Psychotherapy
Finding a therapeutic space where your identity is not just accepted, but deeply understood and honored, is essential for meaningful growth. I provide a specialized, queer-affirming environment for LGBTQI+, gender-diverse, and non-binary individuals, as well as those exploring their sexuality or relationship structures. My practice is grounded in the recognition that many of the challenges faced by the community—such as minority stress, internalized homophobia/transphobia, and the experience of marginalization—require a therapist who is both clinically expert and culturally attuned. I move beyond traditional "normative" frameworks to offer a space where your lived experience is validated and your identity is celebrated.
Drawing from Relational Psychoanalysis and Attachment Theory, we explore how societal contexts and early relational experiences have shaped your sense of self and your capacity for intimacy. I am particularly interested in how we navigate the tension between the need for "belonging" and the drive for "authenticity." Using a trauma-informed lens (including NARM and Compassionate Inquiry), we work together to uncover and transform the survival strategies you may have developed to navigate a world that isn't always safe or welcoming. We address issues ranging from gender dysphoria and "coming out" processes to relationship dynamics and the integration of fragmented aspects of the self.
The goal of our work is to facilitate a journey toward radical self-acceptance and agency. Our sessions provide a "holding environment" where you can explore your identity, desires, and emotions without fear of judgment or the need to educate your therapist. By fostering a mindful and curious attitude, we aim to dismantle the limiting beliefs imposed by heteronormative and cisnormative structures, allowing you to reclaim your narrative. Whether you are seeking support for specific LGBTQI+ issues or simply want a therapist who "gets it" while working on broader life concerns, I am committed to supporting you in living a more integrated, authentic, and fulfilling life.
