Personalized, Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment

Schema Therapy

Schema Therapy is an integrative and powerful therapeutic approach designed to address long-standing emotional difficulties and self-defeating patterns that are often resistant to traditional talk therapies. Many of our most persistent struggles—such as feelings of inadequacy, chronic relationship issues, or a pervasive sense of isolation—are rooted in Early Maladaptive Schemas. These are deeply ingrained "blueprints" of how we view ourselves and the world, formed in childhood when our core emotional needs for safety, connection, and autonomy were not fully met. In our work together, we move beyond surface symptoms to identify and transform these enduring patterns at their source.

Drawing from my background in Attachment Theory and Ego State Therapy, we explore the different "Modes" that operate within you—the parts of the self that react to emotional triggers. Whether it is a "Vulnerable Child" mode feeling overwhelmed or a "Protective" mode that creates distance, we work to understand how these responses were once ingenious survival strategies developed in less-than-ideal circumstances. Using a combination of cognitive, experiential, and relational-psychodynamic techniques, we facilitate a process of "limited reparenting," where the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a safe container for emotional healing and the integration of fragmented parts of the self.

The goal of Schema Therapy is to strengthen your "Healthy Adult" mode, providing you with the internal resources to meet your emotional needs in adaptive and fulfilling ways. By fostering a mindful and curious attitude, we dismantle the rigid beliefs and enactments that keep you stuck in the past. This collaborative journey allows you to reclaim your psychological agency, leading to deeper self-compassion, more authentic connections, and a life that is no longer dictated by old scripts. Through the integration of these deep emotional layers, you can move toward a more balanced, resilient, and integrated sense of being.
